    April 4-6 (Weather permitting),Thursday through Saturday, Annual shearing of our alpacas and llamas. Pick out your fleece! Over 70 alpacas, plus 4 llamas! About 9 to 3 all three days. If its raining, we may have to reschedule.
    April 13-14, California Classic Alpaca Show, Alameda County Fairgrounds, Pleasanton, CA. Come cheer on JarJar and Thumper as they make their show debuts!

    Our ranch is located near two entrances to the San Luis National Wildlife Refuge http://www.fws.gov/sanluis/ The Bear Creek entrance is about 5 miles south of us on Route 165, the Kesterson Unit is about 5 miles west on Highway 140. To check the annual events here, check out http://www.fws.gov/sanluis/nat_calendar2.htm We are located in the Pacific Flyway, so our ranch has hosts many migratory birds in our back field, along with our resident hawks, owls, sandpipers and sparrows.

    We have over 20 colors in our herd - white, brown, black, grey, many multi-colors as well. We also use natural dye sources to create even more colorful combinations of yarn and materials for fiber artists. Our goal is to breed for soft, delightful fiber in a variety of unique colors and combinations.

    Our mini horses are small yet offer good conformation and the potential to excel as either a pet or in the show ring. Desperado is a proven stallion with Buckaroo bloodlines. A miniature horse lets us have more horses with lower feed bill! We only offer one or two offspring a year, so that each foal receives a LOT of attention.

Mini Acre is also in close proximity to world renowned cheese producer Hilmar Cheese. Stop for a tour, sample their delectable cheeses and dine at their cafe if you're hungry. Continue on to Yosemite National Park for additional fun!

Our interest in alpacas started a long time ago; Maureen did a report on the Incan Empire in Elementary school and loved reading about the beautiful clothes, the gold, the lamas and alpacas. Larry grew up on his family farm and is an accountant, to boot!

Macedo's Mini Acre is large enough to offer a variety of choices - fiber or pet alpacas, show candidates, mini horses as well as alpaca products.
